Major Exams Under SSC

Eligibility Criteria for SSC Exams

Each section 25 questions, total 200 marks, 60 minutes (80 minutes for some). Tier‑II is descriptive or objective, testing in‑depth knowledge. Tier‑III is data entry skill test / typing test. Tier‑IV is computer proficiency test or document verification.

SSC Syllabus

English: Reading comprehension, grammar (error spotting, fill in the blanks), vocabulary (synonyms, antonyms).
SSC Salary and Benefits
SSC jobs offer Pay Level from 1 to 8 under 7th Pay Commission. In CGL, ASO in CSS gets Level‑7 (Rs. 44,900–1,42,400) plus DA, HRA, TA. Inspector posts get Level‑7 or 8. Lower division clerks get Level‑2. Additionally, job security, pension, medical facilities, and housing are major attractions.
SSC Notification and Application Process
Notifications are released on ssc.nic.in. Application is online; fee Rs.100 (women/SC/ST exempt). Candidates must upload photo, signature, and pay fee through net banking/debit card/credit card/challan. After form submission, correction window opens.
