How To Fill Online Form

Follow these simple steps to successfully fill out the online application form:

  1. Universal Registration (URN) on UPSC portal: If you don’t have URN, do the one-time registration at upsconline.nic.in → “ONE TIME REGISTRATION”. Save URN and password.

  2. Login with URN and proceed to “Apply Online” → find the Special Advertisement No.52/2025 link for EPFO posts.

  3. Stage-1 form (Part I): Enter personal details, category, educational qualifications, contact details. Upload photo & signature as per specs. Save & preview.

  4. Pay fee (if applicable): Choose payment mode (SBI challan, netbanking, card, UPI). After successful payment, obtain fee receipt / challan number. If fee exempt, ensure you tick the exemption box and upload supporting doc (if required).

  5. Stage-2 form (Part II): Additional details, optional choices (if any), declaration. This sometimes opens after Part I is accepted. Review every field — no edits allowed after final submission in most cases.

  6. Print / Save: After final submission, download the PDF of the submitted application and take a printout for future reference. Save payment confirmation.

  7. Corrections: UPSC sometimes provides a limited correction window; follow official instructions if announced.

💡 Ensure that all details are correct before submitting the form, as no changes will be allowed after final submission.

Mode of selection

Selection stages :

  1. Stage I — Recruitment Test (RT) / Written examination (pen & paper, offline OMR): Objective-type MCQ paper. 300 marks, 120 questions, 2 hours duration. Each question carries 2.5 marks (so 120 × 2.5 = 300). Negative marking: 1/3rd mark deducted for each wrong response. Paper is bilingual (Hindi & English), except where English test is in English only.

  2. Stage II — Personality Test (Interview): 100 marks. Candidates are shortlisted to interview based on written exam performance and cutoffs. Final selection is based on combined score: Written (RT) 75% weightage + Interview 25% weightage (i.e., out of total 400 marks).

Minimum qualifying marks in interview: UPSC usually prescribes minimum interview cutoffs for different categories (for example, reports cite 50 for General, 45 for OBC, 40 for SC/ST/PwBD) — check the notification for the exact figure and whether it applies in 2025.

Some Useful Important Questions

Q1: Can I apply for both EO/AO and APFC together?
A: The notification allows candidates to apply for one or both posts. If applying for both, fee rules (if any) will apply as per the form instructions; many portals note a combined fee if applying for both — check the form before final payment.

Q2: What is the cut-off pattern / weightage between written and interview?
A: Written Recruitment Test carries higher weightage — typically 75% of final marks (i.e., 300 marks written) while Interview carries 25% (100 marks). Candidates must clear minimum interview qualifying marks as notified.

Q3: Is the written exam online or offline?
A: The Recruitment Test (RT) is offline (pen & paper / OMR based). Duration is 2 hours for 120 MCQs.

Q4: Are women / SC / ST candidates exempt from fee?
A: Yes — SC, ST, PwBD and all women candidates are exempt from paying the application fee. General/OBC/EWS male candidates pay ₹25. Always verify exemptions on the official form.

Q5: Where will final appointments be posted and what is the pay scale?
A: EPFO posts follow Government of India pay scales (APFC often Level-10 and EO/AO in similar managerial scales). Posting is across EPFO offices; exact pay matrix & allowances are listed in the official notification. Check the notification and EPFO recruitment circular for pay & posting rules.
