To solve this issue, the Government of Uttar Pradesh started the UP Scholarship Scheme which is one of the largest scholarship programmes in India.

Every year, the Social Welfare Department of UP releases the UP Scholarship Online Form for students of Class 9th to 12th, UG, PG, Diploma, Technical and Professional Courses. The scheme helps students from economically weaker sections including SC, ST, OBC, Minority and General category to continue their studies without financial burden.

For the academic session 2025-26, the online application process for UP Scholarship will start soon. Applicaton Fee

  • The best part about the UP Scholarship Scheme is that students do not need to pay any application fee.

    • General / OBC / SC / ST / Minority / EWS: ₹0/- (No Fee)

    This makes the scheme accessible to all eligible students without any financial pressure.

Age limite As On 1 August 2025

  • There is no minimum or maximum age limit for UP Scholarship. The only condition is that the student must be enrolled in a recognised school, college or university for the respective class/course.

Eligibility Criteria

Students must fulfil the following eligibility criteria to apply for UP Scholarship 2025-26:

  1. Applicant must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.

  2. Student should be enrolled in a recognised school, college or university.

  3. Family annual income should not exceed:

    • SC/ST: ₹2,50,000/-

    • OBC/Minority: ₹2,00,000/-

    • General/EWS: ₹2,00,000/-

  4. Student must have passed the previous class examination.

  5. Attendance record in school/college must be satisfactory.

Documents Required for UP Scholarship 2025-26

Before applying online, students must keep the following documents ready:

  • Recent Passport size Photograph

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Identity Proof (Voter ID/Driving Licence/Ration Card/Passport)

  • Previous Year Marksheet / Passing Certificate

  • Current Year Admission Receipt

  • School/College ID Card

  • Bank Passbook (in student’s name)

  • Caste Certificate (for SC/ST/OBC students)

  • Income Certificate of family

  • Domicile Certificate of UP

  • Mobile Number and Email ID

All scanned copies must be clear and valid. Any wrong information or invalid document can lead to rejection of the application.

Step by Step Process – How to Apply Online

The online application process for UP Scholarship 2025-26 is simple. Follow the steps given below:

Step 1: Registration

  • Visit the official website 👉 scholarship.up.gov.in
  • Click on “Student” section and choose your scholarship type (Pre-Matric, Post-Matric etc.)
  • Fill in your basic details like Name, Category, Date of Birth, Aadhaar Number, Mobile Number and Email.
  • After registration, you will get a Registration ID and Password.

Step 2: Login

  • Use your Registration ID and Password to login.
  • Open the application form and enter details such as Personal Information, Educational Qualification, Bank Account Details and Scholarship Type.

Step 3: Upload Documents

  • Upload scanned copies of documents such as Photo, Marksheet, Income Certificate, Caste Certificate, Bank Passbook etc.

Step 4: Review and Final Submit

  • Check all details carefully before submitting.
  • Once submitted, no changes can be made unless correction window opens.
  • Take a printout of the application form.

Step 5: Submit to College/Institution

  • Attach the printout of your application with all required documents.
  • Submit the hard copy to your school/college for verification.

Offline Application Process

Students who are not able to fill the form online can also apply offline.

  1. Visit your nearest Social Welfare Department / School / College to get the Scholarship Form.
  2. Fill the form carefully with correct details.
  3. Attach photocopies of required documents.
  4. Submit the form to your school/college or district Samaj Kalyan Vibhag office.

However, online application is more convenient and faster. Students are advised to choose the online method for hassle-free process.
