  • Matriculation (10th pass) from a recognised board AND a valid ITI / NTC / NCVT certificate in the relevant trade.

  • Some posts / units emphasise ex-naval apprentice status (i.e., those who have already undergone apprenticeship at Naval establishments) — check the notification’s “who can apply” clause.

  • Where the post is specifically for ex-naval apprentices, proof of previous apprenticeship training / certificate must be produced.

  • Trades must match exactly: if the notification lists “Fitter (Diesel)”, an ITI in unrelated trade may not qualify.

  • Log in and open the “Apply Online” link for Tradesman (Skilled) — select the unit & trade as per vacancy.
  • Fill personal & educational details exactly as per your certificates — mistakes at this stage cause trouble later.
  • Upload scanned documents (photo, signature, certificates) in the exact format and size specified on the portal.
  • Pay fee (if applicable) — many pages show fee ₹0; if a fee is required, pay online. Keep transaction receipt.
  • Preview & submit the form; download/print the confirmation / application PDF for future reference.

Mode of selection

The selection process for this recruitment typically follows these stages:

  1. Shortlisting / Eligibility Screening — application & document checks to ensure you meet trade / age / qualification rules.

  2. Written test / Trade test / Merit list — depending on the notification: many such drives shortlist candidates by merit (marks in ITI / apprenticeship) and may conduct a written test. The official notification lists whether there will be a written exam.

  3. Document Verification (DV) — shortlisted candidates must produce originals.

  4. Medical Examination — final appointment only for medically fit candidates as per Navy rules.

Important: The notification Iink / PDF clearly states whether the written exam is part of selection or if selection is purely merit based (e.g., experience/trade marks). Check the official PDF for your trade.
